AMSTERDAM, June 2026 — SymptomSense, a new free health guidance platform, announces its public launch at symptomsense.co. Built for a world where millions turn to unreliable search results when unwell, SymptomSense provides instant, AI-powered health guidance without requiring an account, subscription, or medical background.
“Health information should be a right, not a privilege. We built SymptomSense because the person Googling their symptoms at 2am deserves the same quality of guidance as someone who can afford a GP on speed dial.”
— SymptomSense founding team, AmsterdamWhat is SymptomSense?
SymptomSense is a free, multilingual health platform comprising four integrated tools. Available at symptomsense.co and as an installable PWA on Android and desktop.
1. AI-Powered Symptom Checker
Users select a body system, describe symptoms, and provide basic profile information. The AI engine — powered by Meta's Llama 3 on Groq — returns ranked conditions with match percentages, severity ratings, and a colour-coded urgency indicator. Under 60 seconds. No data stored.
2. Global Doctor Finder
Powered by OpenStreetMap, users search for GPs, hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies anywhere in the world. Results include real addresses, phone numbers, opening hours, and directions. Entirely free, no API key required.
3. Emergency Numbers Directory
Verified emergency contact numbers for 50+ countries covering ambulance, police, fire, poison control, and mental health crisis lines. Select any country and see all relevant numbers instantly.
4. Conditions A–Z Library
850+ health conditions written in plain English — symptoms, causes, treatment options, and when to seek professional care. No jargon.
Why SymptomSense — and why now?
Over 70% of adults search symptoms online before deciding to see a doctor. Fewer than 20% find the information clear enough to act on. SymptomSense was built to close this gap — not as a replacement for doctors, but as a trusted first step.
“We're not trying to replace doctors. We're trying to be the trusted first step that helps you understand what you're dealing with before you decide whether to pick up the phone.”
